The Attila & Dave Project - Illuminated

The first thing I noticed with this album was that Attila's vocals are really smooth; and you can forget the references to Peter Nicholls of IQ. Actually forget the references to IQ altogether. They seemed to  have honed their skills on this release and have utilized more instruments to create an Eastern feel. The keyboards are not as apparent and it is more guitar oriented. They are far more confident and have created some really great sounds. This release will take a couple of listens to get it all in as there is alot going on even within the songs themselves. The vocal harmonizing is still there only bigger and better. To me they have taken the road that Led Zeppelin utilized so much where one moment you are crunching along and the next you are almost washed in an acoustic ballad, they go back and forth in a couple of songs like that. Overall a fantastic album and by far their best release to date.
